Ballerina Party Part Two

Here is the second round of photos from Maddie's ballerina birthday party. The day was perfect and she and her friends had a great time! We rented a big inflatable bounce house which was a hit. I figured with 4 year olds running around that being outside would be that best thing for any sort of activity.

We had a few neighbors and friends over later that day and our little ballerina fell asleep on a chair outside by 6pm - whew!

Ballerina Party Part One

I can't believe how fast Maddie's Ballerina party flew last Saturday. She had that most wonderful time. It was so sweet to see all the girls dancing and twirling around in their tutu's.

I really enjoyed preparing her party and I'm excited to share it with you. I thought I'd break it up in parts since I took a ton of photos and it may just as well be easier to do it this way. Some of the items I did myself. In another posting I'll explain in more detail about them and also share a few as DIY's.

First up are the decorations and cake...

You can find me here

I'm excited to share some news with you. A few months ago I was contacted by Flamboyant Designs Couture owner, Heather about becoming a featured artist on their sister site Flamboyant Designs. You can view some of my designs here. In the months ahead I look forward to creating more designs for them. When you get a chance take a look at their new site.

Just a few fun things I found in honor of Father's Day this weekend. We'll be taking a small vacation starting Sunday and heading up north to spend time with my family at a cabin on Pine Lake. We're looking forward to a little R & R.
Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies out there!

Check back mid next week as I will be sharing Maddie's birthday party with you. She is soooo excited as well as myself. It's been fun preparing a ballerina party.

Birthday Tutu's

This weekend I spent some time making 6 no sew tutu's for Maddie's ballerina themed party. They will be given to the girls and will be part of their gift favors to take home. You may remember I made this one for her Tinker Bell costume for Halloween last year. I did find another tutorial that was basically the same except that I used 6" rolled tulle and thin elastic headbands( for the waist) that I found at Target. Much easier!

Calming

I'm seriously a ying and yang type of gal when it comes to design of any sort. I love me some color but, I also love things that are simple and calming to the eye. I'm adoring the Etsy shop pi'lo for the latter. They have a site and a blog that are equally charming!

Smells like Spring

Our backyard has the most lovely smell right now. We have 2 young Japanese Lilac trees that are in full frangrance bloom right now. I actually won one of the trees a few years ago at work and we decided to buy another to put one in each of our berms in that back.

Notice Leyton zooming on his scooter in the bottom left corner - ha-ha

I'm totally addicted to coleus plants that I plant in planters almost every spring. Love the varigated leaves!

Of course annuals like daisies are opening and we have Cat Mint which is very pretty but, does attract the fella's that you see on it.

Balloons and Chocolate

I've been on the look out for cute/clever ice cream bowls for the kiddos birthday parties coming up. This morning I wanted to quickly skim over a few of my favorite blogs. Seriously, if you haven't looked or drooled over at Bakerella lately you have to check these out. How fun and yummy!

I'm not sure if I will make these for the kids parties because there will already be too much sugar envolved. The parents would just luv me, right? They would however be perfect for a little get together. Can't wait to try. I know the kids will love to help me out with this one!

The weekend

Hope you all enjoyed the looong weekend. We did and the weather has been hot yet beautiful - 80's! It's hard to believe that the school year is winding down. Actually, Leyton has only 2 more days left and summer break will be in full force. We have so much planned this summer so if my posts are slim that would be why.

This weekend we spent a lot of time outside...in water and in the backyard.
