365 years older

Yep, today is my birthday. No, I won't give you the exact number I'm turning but, let's just say that my favorite birthday gift when I turned 6 was a plastic white guitar with a photo of Shawn Cassidy on it. Do I feel older? Not really. I think the saying is right...you're only as old as you feel. I really don't feel the age I am today. I know a lot has happened in my life within the last 10 years but, aside from all of that I don't think I've really changed all that much. Okay, except for a few random stick straight grays on my head I've been finding here and there. But, nothing hair dye can't hide for awhile, right?

I do have a wish that I'd like YOU my followers and newbies to help me out with. I'd LOVE to hear any feedback to what new designs you'd like to see in my Etsy shop. Perhaps it's a theme birthday party design or a birth announcement with a certain color scheme. I really want to create designs that you are wanting. So please, share any ideas or requests. :)

Spring on Your Neck

First of all, I have to apologize since I've been missing from here for over a week. I've been filled to the brim with freelance orders. Things are picking up more. YAY for that but, there are so many other things I've neglected. The blog being one and my Etsy store the other. I'm gearing up to creating new designs. For one, because I need "fresh" designs and two, more of my existing designs will be handed over to Pea Pod Announcements. I've designed for them a bit in that past but, will be selling again. They have a new owner Susan and I'm looking forward to what she all has in store. So please check out all the designs on Pea Pod's since she will be reopening the site soon.

The weather has been beautiful in Wisconsin and we are all so excited that spring is upon us. That means the sun is shinning longer and being outside with the kids will be a definite. As soon as Leyton is off the bus he either grabs his scooter or hops on his bike. Ahhh...this means more late work nights for me! I can't deny the kids play time outside this time of year so it's worth it.

Speaking of spring...how lovely are these necklaces? I've seen flowers pop up everywhere on necklaces lately. I'm hinting to my husband since some one's birthday is coming up soon. :)

Typography Poster

Just wanted to share this poster I found here. It's so true about typography. It just doesn't get enough recognition at times.

Have a great weekend!

Wooded Cards and Other Goodies

Night Owl Paper Goods has me seriously hooked! Since the discovery of them I can't stop browsing their store site. The eco friendly wooden cards are my favorite!
If only I had some extra cash to spend I'd love to get personal business cards printed up on these.

A Few Spring Designs

It's probably the nice mild weather we've been having because my mind is full on spring right now. I have some new designs I posted in my Etsy shop. I don't have any Easter designs listed but, if you are interested please don't hesitate to ask.

Oh. My. Cuteness!

As a designer you wish that new ideas would just "click" into your head and off you go designing. I think I'm safe to say that just as any other designer you have to go browsing for inspiration. Sometimes I can lose myself in blogs and sites and before I know it hours have gone bye. I have to do it time to time though since it really does strike up new ideas. This weekend I'll have too buckle down and get my designing on. I've been asked to design a few more themed announcements/invitations for Pea Pod Announcements that will be carrying more of my designs. Yay!

I stumbled across these super cute birthday cupcake kits by Meri Meri. I've been a fan of Meri Meri for a while after spotting a few of their cards and other goodies in paper stores. I first spotted these kits on this blog site. Worth browsing!

She's a keeper

Three days out of the week it's just Maddie and I. Two of those days she goes to preschool for a few hours in the morning. Afterwards we sometimes run a few errands since we Mom's no how much easier it is with just one child to do so. Sometimes we go out to lunch or just come home and eat a little something, read books and then usually I put in a little bit of work time. Maddie is so good when I'm working for a few hours. She usually hangs out with me and colors, plays or watches a movie.

My husband just bought a guitar since he has wanted to take lessons for awhile now. Ever since he has been practicing little miss Maddie will drag her Barbie one out and do the same. This afternoon after lunch I snapped this video of her sitting on the couch with her guitar. Note that she isn't really strumming it and the occasional sticking out of the tongue. She definitely has her "sassy" moments but, this girl just melts my heart.

Oh and sorry for the not so steady shooting on my part. I was partially giggling and bobbing my head with her.

Childrens Wall Artwork

If you are a decor8 blog junkie reader like me you've probably seen this amazing collection of children's art work wall piece by Jan Eleni. I know I have piles of my children's artwork and sadly yes, we did have to depart ways with many that did not make the pile.

On ohdeedoh they posted a scale down version from HowDoesShe.com I think this may just be an idea of some artwork to be hung in my office.(Still in progress)

Another idea and wish I had the material for it right now but, unfortunately that would require a trip to the store and I just got back! Maybe later this week. They have magnetic sheets that you can run through your ink jet. You can buy them here. Basically you'd do the same but, print on the magnetic sheet. Cut them out and use them to hang up even more fabulous artwork!
