A cold and posters

Credit: IOC / Olympic Museum Collections

Have you been enjoying watching the 2010 Olympics? I have...snuggled up with a blanket and a cup of joe in hand. Also, with a box of kleenex and a ton of cough drops near by. I've had this darn cold since Sunday and I really haven't felt like doing much - design productivity that is. I have a few projects that have been brewing in my head so I WILL work on them this weekend.

Thinking about the Olympics I was curious about the designing of posters and etc...for the event and found this website that shows the posters of the past Olympics. If you have time to browse they are neat to look at.

Other things I do

One of my other design loves is to create logos of all sorts. Here are just a few that I've done recently. If you are ever in need of a logo creation - just ask because I'd love to help out!

Flower Hair Pretties

"Pretties" are what we refer to my daughters hair accessories. Although I do have to admit that I don't get too creative with her hair. I'd like to more but, she is just as happy with her clips, ponytail and pigtails as I am.

Maddie sporting her new rose clippie

I am a sucker for all cute girl hair accessories or clothing for that matter. So when I saw this post here referring to these DIY rose clips from Purl Bee. I had to make some. I just bought some more felt today to make a few for my daughters friends. She insisted! :)

For us big girls I spotted these lovely fabric rosettes here. So pretty!

Lovely

{photos via mint}

There are so many wonderful and talented blogs that I'm discovering every week. One of my new favorites is Mint. Have you seen it? Ellie's style is lovely. Clean and fresh yet not afraid to use patterns in her designs. You really have to check out her store.

These beauties are what really caught my eye - her business cards. You know how everyone is in love with Japanese tape(myself included). Look how she used it. Beautiful!

Alphabet Prints

They're finished and I can't be more happy with them! These buggers took a bit of time. Mainly because I was becoming so anal with them. Tweaking a little color here and a little spacing there. But, in the end I'm quite pleased. I've wanted a try at creating an alphabet poster awhile ago and just didn't know what direction I wanted to take. It finally came to me. What do you think? There are three color combos to choose from :: red/gray/blue/tan :: pink/yellow/green/orange/ :: blue, red, green, yellow :: I just listed them in my shop last night.

Hope you had a great weekend!
